Scaffolding for construction of high-rise buildings

Bill was intrigued by the scaffolding used in Hong Kong for construction of skyscraper buildings. It was made of bamboo tied together. This bamboo scaffolding was used more than 10 stories high. We could just imagine what OSHA would say about this!

Later we saw this same type bamboo scaffolding used both in Shanghai and Beijing. The Chinese feel pretty secure with the strength of hand-tied bamboo poles lashed together several hundred feet up in the air.

I got squeamish just thinking about being out on that.
