The first time we visited the Kingdom of Tonga was in June 2002. We had chartered a 46-ft sailboat. Friends Pam & Larry Shelton joined us for this sailing vacation. This is a photo of a cruising yacht at anchor during one of the gorgeous red sunsets. We vowed at the time that we would someday return to Tonga, not knowing at the time that our next visit would be on our very own boat and after a very, very long sail.
A very special place with very gentle people.
